Where is Phil Jones?
Has he been in a Man U squad in the last few months?

He may well be in his house waiting for the roof to come off so they can winch him out?

Arsenal love someone who plays in his position!
He looks streets ahead of Willian and Pepe.

Man City and Liverpool arent interested in Lingard even if Man U would sell to them.
Everton seem a graveyard for no.10's so not sure they'd be looking for another one.

Spurs will stick their nose in OBVIOUSLY

“The obese Phil Jones” comment made me laugh. My imagination, I am seeing a “shut in” type perhaps even as big as Titi Camara. Ok that’s a bit extreme but Jones was the type we used to buy for sure.

Can see Benrahma really improving over the season.

A definite upgrade on Benrahma, whom he will no doubt replace in the starting XI.

As I correctly predicted.

Warrington?

If he does a really good job of re-establishing his career with us, and his relation with Man U is broken, there's still Man C, Everton and Liverpool to worry about.

We certainly look hit in numbers on the counter a lot more than we used to. Lingard is tailor made for this as he is very quick.
Sadly I think his loan with us is a prelude to him being sold to a European team although any family issue he might have would mitigate against that. He is a Warrington lad after all.

Interesting comment, if you remember Man Utd in there heyday with Giggs etc, yes the could dominant team but they werent afraid of going back to front quickly and hitting teams on the counter.

Just watched the Behind the Scenes video and you have to love the team spirit, Lingard seems to have become very popular within the squad very quickly.

I don’t imagine he will ever play for Man Utd again.
This move is all about getting him playing & generating some interest in him & upping the fee.
Was looking at a Man U site & it was divided between those pleased he had gone & those defending him ... but still glad he has gone.
The most popular view was swapping him & the obese Phil Jones & some cash for Rice.

Interesting comment from a Man U board.

"West Ham play a little more direct than us, not long balls as such, but they stick the ball into channels for Antonio to get onto, and support quick from midfield. We tend to play the ball into feet most of the time, and then lay the ball back to the deeper midfield players or CB's. I wish that we would take a chance sometimes, and play a quick ball into the channels, just to get the opponents defence wondering what we are going to do next.

West Ham's play suits Jesse a lot more than United's, he would make a forward run with United but not get the ball, only to his feet, which is not his strength."

Maybe our style of play suits Lingard better? Maybe he's better off being at WHU than at Man Utd?

This was the beginning of his downfall -

And then, he 'allegedly' shagged Pogba's bird. Though that's not in the public domain and may be bollocks (in case any libel lawyer is reading}.

You're right, tlf.

And it seems you are too, Eerie.

It will all depend on whether Pogba stays or not, then.

I believe Man Utd took up the extra 12 month option on his contract so 18 months left.

I've just learned that Lingard's contract expires in June so there was no point in adding a 'right to buy' clause.

Unless I'm mistaken, if he likes it with us and wants to stay we can get him on a free.

Or am I missing something?

The family problems are absolutely the reason his career long best form came to a sudden halt 2 or so years back. The sky fell on his head.

Hopefully, he’s come through it all now, and the stronger for it. Too early to tell, but we couldn’t have asked for more from a debut.
